Our January event, was a Souper Success with over 50 Wessex members enjoying homemade soup and crusty bread. Oh crumbs, was it lively at our house! We did not think we could get that many people into our house and fed, but with everyones help it all went smoothly. One of our neighbours commented on how nice it was to see all the brightly coloured cars dotted around the various driveways and down the road. We are always so pleased that we have such lovely neighbours, that allow us to use their driveways, and the loan of chairs etc.

After lunch the drive out routes were handed out and a long line of Lotus Cars made there way up on to Cranborne Chase on some truly spectacular Lotus driving Roads and then into the New Forest to Burley Manor, our destination for afternoon tea. The Manager of the hotel directed us to the front of the hotel to park our cars, for a beautiful backdrop for a photoshoot, both towards the house and out to the front to the Deer Park.

Afternoon tea was served in the Green Drawing Room with a view out towards the park. A very pleasant afternoon was enjoyed by all. It was nice to meet new members to the Wessex area, Simon and Elayne, in their Blue Sports Racer Elise. We hope they enjoyed the day and will attend many more events with their lovely car. Photos by Paul Renner.

Sunday 3 February 2019 Drive Out – Sir John Barleycorn Public House, Cadnam, SO40 2NP

The driveout will start at the Sir John Barleycorn Pub from 10am for coffee. There will be a short run out around the New Forest returning back to the Sir John Barleycorn for lunch, for those who want to stay. Although we do not need to pre-order lunch or pay in advance, we do need to let the pub know definate numbers for the tables. Therefore please let us know by email at i.rymer@lotusdriversclub.org.uk if you wish to be included for lunch. There is no guarantee that you will get a seat, if you do not book before this time, as the pub gets very busy and will not stop taking bookings from the public.
