Friday 28 April – Monday 1 May 2017

We’re excited to announce that the Lotus Drivers Club will be returning to Saundersfoot in 2017 for another Driving Adventure along the Pembrokeshire Coast.

The weekend will cover parts of Pembrokeshire from the seaside town of Tenby in the South, along the coast to Sprinkle Haven, St David’s, Fishguard and The Preseli Hills and Mountains in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. We aim to supply a mix of breathtaking driving roads and scenic view points.

We are also pleased to announce that we will be joined in Saundersfoot by Newtown Lotus Cwmbran

Our Driving Adventures are not a race, time trial or guided tour. They are a navigational road trip where you will be given a start and finish point for each day, along with a suggested route. You will be expected to find your own way there with your own map, sat nav and/or carrier pigeon.

Ragley Hall Classic Car Show

Written by , Posted in 2017 Events

Sunday 28 May 2017

For the past seventeen years the Ragley Hall Classic Car Show has been one of the most popular events on the Lotus Drivers Club calendar. In the last few years we have had over 60 Lotus cars on display, and once again we are hoping to beat this record!

Lots of Car Clubs put on displays and there are usually 100’s of individual entries with all forms of transport represented. There are autojumble and trade stands and children’s attractions.

Apart from members and enthusiasts displaying their cars, the Ragley Hall Classic Car Show is very much a social event. For those of you who have not been to this event there is something of interest for all the family. Ragley Hall is the family home of Lord Hertford and is set in 400 acres of parkland, woodland and gardens. (more…)

Llandudno Fish and Chip Run

Written by , Posted in 2017 Events

Saturday 24 June 2017

The annual Lotus Drivers Club Fish and Chip run to the coast was started 5 years ago in 2012 with the first run to Hunstanton. The event has grown in popularity each year since.

This year on Saturday 24th June we will be visiting the largest seaside resort in Wales, Llandudno. Llandudno’s immaculate seafront, gracefully framed by two headlands, is a seaside classic. It’s a proper resort, with a pier, Punch and Judy and Donkey Man and even Alice in Wonderland.

Privileged display parking along the promenade has been organised for members and will be available from 10am – 6pm. There will also be an opportunity for those staying for the weekend to discover some of the greatest driving roads North Wales has to offer, such as the Evo Triangle and Capel Curig. Accommodation and route details will be released soon.

For more information please contact driving@lotusdriversclub.org.uk or sign up on the forum here. (more…)

Hello From Your New Editor

Written by , Posted in Chicane, News

I have the privilege and honour of taking over Chicane from Simon, starting with the next issue. Simon has done an excellent job of running and managing what is undoubtably the best Lotus club magazine out there. I intend to follow in his footsteps whilst putting my own stamp on the magazine.

Some of you have already met me at a few of the events over the last couple of years. I hope to meet many more of you as the months and years go on. A little bit about me then. I own a 2001 Series 2 Elise. I work full time for the Ambulance Service so I can probably drive a 5 ton Mercedes Sprinter faster than I can my Elise most of the time. In my spare time I am a freelance motoring journalist, mainly working for online media. I’m hoping to bring some of this editorial experience to Chicane.

We are working with the printers on the next issue of Chicane already. We have started early as I am planning a fairly thorough refresh of the magazine. Nothing too drastic but hopefully you should see a fresh look and feel to what is already a great publication. To that end, I welcome any feedback, criticism or ideas for the magazine. Hopefully Chicane will continue to evolve over time.

Thanks, David
