Performance Autocare is North Yorkshire’s Lotus Specialist, based in the market town of Knaresborough, they aim to offer Lotus owners a one-stop shop for all their Lotus needs! 

The company was opened back in 2015 by owner and fellow enthusiast Jonny Wills. Previously being a head technician at a specialist Jonny had the idea to open up his own workshop and Performance Autocare was born. Mainly focusing on all Lotus / VX220 models and often accompanied by other exotic brands, from a routine service to a full restoration, Performance Autocare has owners covered.

Starting off with one workshop while the business was built up; a few years (and long hours) later… the unit next door became vacant. This was seen as a great opportunity to expand the business. This not only gave them double the working area but meant they could focus the second workshop on bespoke vehicle geometry. A dedicated geometry lift was installed, along with corner weight scales and a new geometry system. A Geometry check every few years is recommended and their Logik 6 system gives accurate readings of toe, camber and castor which all play a vital role in how your car handles.

After years of building its reputation in the Lotus world, Performance Autocare is pleased that people come from far and wide for them to work on their cars. Jonny says: ‘We will always offer over-the-phone advice and help all Lotus owners throughout ownership when we can’.

The annual Performance Autocare Lotus meeting has become somewhat of a tradition and one which we are promised will continue at their site in Knaresborough in 2023 and beyond. These meetings have been held for the last three years with attendance and popularity growing each year. Hot food and drink are available and the day is a great opportunity to check out their workshops, and speak to staff and fellow enthusiasts!

For their track-going customers, Performance Autocare organises a couple of dedicated track days a year for clients to join them on exclusive track days. This is usually limited to 24 cars meaning everyone gets plenty of track time and conditions are super relaxed. These days are a great opportunity for someone wishing to try out their Lotus on track for the first time!
