Curborough Introduction to Sprinting

Sadly we have decided to postpone this event, originally scheduled to take place in April, in accordance with the latest Government guidelines. It is now our intention to hold this event on Thursday 24 June 2021.

Are you interested in finding the limits of your Lotus on track, or would you like to give it a go for the first time?

The Lotus Drivers Club Introduction to Sprinting event at Curborough Sprint Course has a new date of Thursday 24 June 2021. The day will allow you to develop your driving skills and to push your car as far as you like with no other cars on circuit. The day is split in to two track sessions: 10:00-13:00 and 14:00-17:00.

Starting from as little as £60, the entry fee includes takeaway breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch (vegetarian option available) and includes both track sessions.

This is a brilliant chance for anyone with little or no experience of sprinting or track days. The controlled environment will allow you to learn to push yourself and your Lotus as far as you like with no other cars on circuit at the same time to worry about.

Join the Lotus Drivers Club on Monday 28 June 2021 as we support Mission Motorsport and Lotus Cars for the charity veterans event held at the historic Bicester Heritage site in Oxfordshire.

Mission Motorsport are a charitable organisation whose mission is to aid the recovery and rehabilitation of those affected by military operations by providing opportunities through Motorsport and Automotive Industry.

There are regular veterans days held at Bicester and Mission Motorsport aim to provide a different theme for each of their meetings. On Monday 28 June the aim is to provide veterans with the opportunity of experiencing the thrill of a ride in an iconic sports car along with the opportunity to meet the owners. Lotus will be a featured marque for the day and the team from Hethel will be supporting the event by providing cars, alongside LDC members.

The iconic Bicester test track, with its six technical turns and a short straight will offer LDC members the opportunity to take veterans for a passenger lap around the track, in a safe and private environment. Track day experience and helmets are not required due to the low speeds.

Please join us and share the love of our treasured cars and make someones day a bit brighter. Oh, and did we mention that there is free tea and cake!

If you are interested in taking part in this charitable event please complete the event registration or contact Clara Waylett for more information at c.waylett@lotusdriversclub.org.uk

Thruxton Skid Pan

Thruxton Skid Pan

Thruxton Skid Pan

Thruxton’s newly built skid pan is a wetted low grip facility that provides you with a safe and controlled environment to practice your sleek skills on with very little wear and tear on the tyres or the car itself. Not only is this experience great fun, but more importantly a hugely worthwhile investment in your own and your passengers’ safety.

Be it the first time you’ve controlled a skid, tried steering out of danger, or sensing and recovering an unexpected aquaplane, skid pans are used to teach car control skills that you can only become proficient in from experience and practice. Thruxton’s experienced instructors and staff will be on hand to help you get the most from your time, be it in trying something that you’ve never had the chance to try, or in perfecting your drifting.

We are all trying our utmost to avoid Covid risk, so you’ll book, be briefed and participate in safety. Additional measures have been put in place to ensure members and staff remain safe whilst attending the skid pan. The session is 4 hours long, with a limited group size to minimise waiting and maximise time spent looking through the side windows as you explore the limits of your Lotus. Spaces are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
