For the past twelve years Ragley Hall Classic Car Show has been one of the most popular events on the LDC calendar where we usually find we have about 20 to 30 cars on display (our record was 49 cars in 1999 which we are still hoping to beat!) Lots of Car Clubs put on displays and there are usually 100's of individual entries with all forms of transport represented. There are auto jumble and trade stands and children's attractions.
Apart from LDC members and their friends displaying their Lotus cars, it's very much a social event to start the season being a chance to meet up again with all old friends and make new ones. We have been promised the same area for our Stand as in previous year’s right in front of the Hall.
For those of you who have not been to this event there is something for all the family. Ragley Hall is the family home of Lord Hertford and is set in 400 acres of parkland, woodland and gardens. The Hall is surrounded by 27 acres of gardens designed by Capability Brown where peacocks freely roam and there is a lovely Tea Room overlooking the Rose Garden, while the parkland contains the exciting Children's Adventure Wood, 3-D Maze, a lovely old Carriage Collection, a Woodland Walk and the Lakeside Picnic Area. The Hall itself houses a fabulous collection of treasures from a bygone age, and you will see the James Gibb's elegant Baroque plasterwork and Graham Rust's stunning mural "Temptation".
The Entry Fee for this year is £2.50 per exhibit which includes admission for the driver, one adult and up to two children under 16 years of age – all other occupants must pay the Show Admission Price. You will be issued with a Free Admission Pass which is valid until 10.30 am on each day – vehicles arriving after that time will be charged the normal entrance fee. Members wishing to display their cars must let us have their entry fee and vehicle details by 10 May 2010.
