The Sportomotive Annual Skittles Challenge was a great success. There were 46 enthusiastic Wessex Area Skittlers, who were not in the least bit competitive (much). After a good lunch we teamed up to form four teams, allocated by John Hutton, our skittles scrutineer for the day. Elan, Exige, Elise and Evora all battled to win the team prize. The eventual winners of this challenge were the Elan Team. Only four points separated the winning team from the other three teams.

After the team challenge, John organised a game of Killer, which is a process of elimination, and after a competitively played contest Simon was crowned the winner. Holding the Sportomotive trophy for one year and taking the prize pot. Our thanks to John and Paula for the invaluable help on the day. Paula raised a magnificent sum for area funds from the raffle, which all goes to help against next year’s events. The Sportomotive sponsored Wessex 2019 Calendar was available to purchase and will also be available at the next two events.

Looking ahead to 2019

2019 starts with the Traditional Souper Day, followed by Afternoon Tea at the Burley Manor Hotel in Burley on Sunday 6th January 2019.

Saturday 16th February 2019 will be the Annual Valentines Dinner spectacular at the Bartley Lodge Hotel.

Back by popular Demand is the Spring Ducking Racing at the Refurbished Whitechurch Silk Mill. Kevin is itching to get those legs out and the ducks have just about recovered from seeing them two years ago, when they were at an impressionable age, having just been hatched.

June will be the Club Lotus/Historic Lotus Club Summer Drive In at Oakley Hall Hotel on Sunday June 9th and the Beaulieu Supercar Weekend will be held again this year in the Summer.
